The Thompson Construction Process

Step 1: Initial Consultation

Meet with you to discuss everything from your budget and timeframe, to your desires and visions.

Step 2: Planning and Design

Your vision is taken from idea to sketches and schematic drawings.

Step 3: Financial Options

Thompson Construction can refer you to a lender we recommend who specializes in construction financing or we can work with the financial institution of your choice.

Step 4: Specifications and Cost Approval

We will present renderings & floor plans as needed.  We will make changes, considering options and make recommendations. Our mutual understanding allows us to agree on a fixed price. When you are completely comfortable with the project, we get your approval and move forward.

Step 5: Finalize Plans and Materials Selection

Choose your materials, hardware and finishes.  While you are visualizing the perfect textures and accents, we turn your preliminary plans into working blueprints. All the selections are organized in our detailed construction & design specifications.

Step 6: Permit Processing

We handle the entire permitting process, saving you time & headaches.

Step 7: Scheduling of Materials, Labor and Equipment

Everything possible is scheduled and ordered before construction even starts. This ensures smooth progress by reducing mistakes, delays and last minute searches for substitutions.

Step 8: Supervising Construction

We are your personal project manager, keeping you “in-the-know” at all times on how things are going throughout the course of your project.

Step 9: Clean-up and Walk-Through

At projects end, Thompson Construction provides a thorough cleanup, followed by an inspection and walk-through of the project with you.  Thompson Construction isn’t satisfied until you are.

Step 10: Construction Warranty

Thompson Construction has a 1 year warranty against defects in workmanship or materials, 2 year warranty against system defects relating to electrical, plumbing & mechanical systems, and a 10 year warranty against structural defects relating to load bearing elements within the structure which provides peace of mind.
